River Bluff Nursing Home at 4401 North Main Street, Rockford, Illinois.

My mom was a resident of riverbluff for almost four years! I can't tell you how VERY disappointed I am with them. The incompetence of this nursing home is staggering! First my 96 year old mom started to fall out of her wheelchair face first... The CNA saw her falling but went into another room and my mom fell face first out of her wheelchair and received a HUGE hematoma on her forehead! Secondly...while visiting my mom in the nursing home... I heard her making a gurgling sound... And insisted my mom go to the hospital... I told the nurse practitioner Jody that my om had pneumonia. Jody checked her lungs and stated her lungs were clear. The next day I received a call from the nursing home saying mom's health had drastically detiorated and asked me what they should do... I told them... ADMIT HER IN THE HOSPITAL! After 45 minutes the doctor called stating my mom is very I'll and he didn't think she'd make it. When I got to the hospital... My poor mom is struggling to breathe and had full blown pneumonia! I made the difficult decision to just keep her comfortable and my mom passed away on January 2, 2018...I was there right by her side. I find it interesting that just two days prior that incompetent nurse practitioner Jody found her lungs clear... Yet cause of death I'd pneumonia and sepsis... As the nursing home NEVER told me her kidneys had failed! By law they have to tell me EVERYTHING! IF ANYONE OUT THERE IS THINKING OF PUTTING THEIR LOVED ONE IN THIS NURSING HOME... DON'T.... read what they did to my mom!
